MIXTUR AT PRIMARY SCHOOL (II)

Festival Mixtur invites students and teachers from different primary schools to get involved with the festival each year. The general objective of “Mixtur at primary school” is to introduce contemporary music to children and music teachers at the Primary Education stage.

In this activity students from the Turó Blau primary school in Barcelona prepare, with the help of their teachers, a visit to Silvia Rosani’s sound installation “Intermezzo 4” which will be exhibited in the Fabra i Coats area during the first week of the festival. During the preparation period, students listen, analyze and carry out sound experimentation activities, guided by their music teacher. Questions are raised that are addressed to the performers. When attending the activity, the children participate actively in the proposed workshop by asking questions and exploring sound through the live manipulation of objects that form part of the installation.
